Because every minute (and dollar) counts when you’re running a business and a household.
You’re pouring energy, heart, and late-night hustle into your business……but somehow, it still feels like you’re behind. You end each week wondering, “Where did the time go? Did I really make progress?”
Chances are, you’ve got a few quiet leaks in your business systems. These are places where time, energy, or money is slipping away without you even noticing. Just like a roof leak starts slowly, it grows over time and can have a big impact. As a mompreneur, your time is already stretched between snack time and client calls. You can’t afford inefficiency.
The good news? These leaks are fixable and preventable with small, smart adjustments that get big results.
1. No Follow-Up System = Missed Revenue
You do the hard part: marketing, networking, connecting. But what happens after the first discovery call or inquiry?
Without a follow-up system in place, leads go cold, emails get buried, and potential revenue walks out the (virtual) door.
The Fix:
Implement a simple CRM tool (even a free one like Trello or Notion) that lets you track leads and set follow-up reminders. You can even create email templates for quicker replies. A 5-minute system can turn “I forgot to follow up” into “another client signed.”
2. Messy Onboarding = Time Drains + Confused Clients
Client onboarding should feel smooth and confident for both you and the client. But if you’re manually emailing forms, re-explaining your process, or chasing down payments, you’re losing valuable hours.
The Fix:
Use a workflow tool like Dubsado or HoneyBook to automate contracts, payments, and welcome emails. If you’re not ready for automation tools, create a templated onboarding checklist and email swipe file to reduce friction.
Honeybook is a favorite of some of my clients! Check it out here! Client Management Software for Small Businesses | HoneyBook. They even have a free trial.
3. Manual Tasks That Should Be Automated
Are you still reminding clients about invoices manually? Copy-pasting the same social post every Tuesday? Manually uploading Zoom recordings?
These may seem like small tasks, but they stack up fast and eat away at your energy.
The Fix:
Start by automating just one repetitive task. Schedule social media content in batches, use calendar tools for bookings, or auto-send post-call recaps via templates. Every automation is a minute back in your day.
4. You Don’t Have Scheduled CEO Time
It’s easy to get stuck in “worker bee” mode serving clients, answering emails, fulfilling orders but not actually steering the ship of your business. If no one is steering the ship with the vision of the company than you will quickly lose ground and get of course.
The Fix:
Block out 1–2 hours per week for your “CEO Power Hour.” Use that time to review finances, map out goals, analyze metrics, or plan future moves. No client work allowed—just leadership focus.
5. You’re Planning Reactively Instead of Proactively
If your day starts with scanning your inbox or jotting down to-dos while your coffee brews, you’re starting on defense.
The Fix:
End each workday by writing tomorrow’s top 3 priorities, ones tied to revenue, growth, or sustainability. This creates momentum and keeps your time aligned with your vision.
You Deserve a Business That Supports Your Life (Not One That Drains It)
Small systems save big time.
You don’t need a team of ten or an MBA to optimize how your business runs. You just need clarity, intention, and a willingness to step into your role as CEO, even when the laundry’s calling.
